Polycom 501 - Setup Guide
To configure Polycom 501 VoIP phones to work with your system follow the instructions below. Make sure the phone is configured in endpoint manager before executing these instructions.
  1.  Reset the phone to factory defaults. You may skip this step if the phone is brand new and has not been configured yet.
    1. Press the Menu key.
    2. Select Settings from the menu.
    3. Select Advanced.
    4. Enter the default password 456.
    5. Select Admin Settings.
    6. Select Reset to Default.
    7. Select Format File System.
    8. Select Yes to format the file system.
    9. The phone will reset and reboot.
  2. Once the phone has been reset you may set the configuration server.
    1. Press the Menu key.
    2. Select Settings from the menu.
    3. Select Advanced.
    4. Enter the default password 456.
    5. Select Admin Settings.
    6. Select Network Configuration.
    7. Select Server Menu.
    8. Set Server Type to TFTP.
    9. Set the server address to the IP address of your Freevoice server.
    10. Select Exit.
    11. Select Yes to reboot the phone.
    12. The phone should reboot and download the setup files from the Freevoice server.
