Outbound Routing: This section handles how calls can be dialed out of the system. The most common setup consists of a single outbound route which handles all outbound calls. Multiple outbound routes can be built, in order to access different trunks. - Login to FreePBX as described here.
- Click the Setup tab at the top of the page.
- On the left side of the page click the Outbound Routing under Basic.
- Configure the Outbound route following the guidelines below.
- Route Name - Enter a name for this route, the name should describe the outbound route, for example a route for local calls should be called local. Or a route for all outbound calls can be labeled outbound.
- Route Password - Enter an optional numeric password for this route. This is useful for restricting certain outbound routes. Leave this blank for no password.
- Dial Patterns - Use the Dial patterns wizard to select the calls types that will go out this route. Use the Dial patterns wizard drop down box to select the first pattern, this will input the pattern into the Dial Patterns field. Use the drop down box again to choose the next pattern, keep doing so until you have all the needed patterns for this outbound route.
- Trunk Sequence - Select the order of the Trunks that will be used with this outbound route. Analog Trunks will appear as ZAP/G0, VoIP Trunks will appear with the specified trunk name.
- Click the Submit button when done.
- To apply the changes click the red Apply Changes Bar in the upper right corner of the page. You may add more outbound routes before clicking "Apply Changes", just be sure to click the "Apply Changes" bar before exiting.
