Using the Internal Phonebook to Set Incoming Caller ID
Follow this guide to use the Phonebook module to alter the Caller ID of inbound calls from numbers is the phonebook. Incoming calls from numbers in the phonebook will have the Caller ID name set to the one assigned in the phonebook module.
1. Adding CallerID Lookup Source
Login to the Freevoice PBX admin page, then click the FreePBX link under the Asterisk tab.
Click the CallerID Lookup Sources link.
Fill out the fields as in the example below.
Click the Submit Changes button.
2. Enable CID Lookup in Each Inbound Route
Click the Inbound Routes link in the FreePBX setup page.
For each inbound route you would like to enable the CID lookup on, find the CID Lookup Source field and select Phonebook as shown below.
Then click the Submit Changes button, then click the orange Apply Changes bar at the top of the screen.
3. Adding Phonebook Entries
Click the Tools tab on the FreePBX page.
Click the Asterisk Phonebook link.
Add entries as in the example below. The Name field is what will be shown for incoming caller id, the speed dial code is used with the speed dial feature code.
